Description (Some HTML is OK)
Colourful "food" that'll keep a toddler busy for ages, with ingredients that are easy to come by.
Ingredients
Makes 1 serving
- Sugar beans
- Butter beans
- Barley
- Orange split lentils
- Carnation or rose petals
- Small bowls, large bowls, and various spoons
- Food colouring
- Glitter
- Water
Preparation
Suitable from ages 2.5 and upwards.
Get lots of little and big bowls, and some spoons and ladles. Look in your pantry for dry ingredients that will not make too big a mess if it spills, or cause instant poisoning or choking if ingested. (Obviously adult supervision is needed for this sort of playing.) Do a quick google to check you're not using poisonous flowers.
Put the ingredients in seperate little bowls, provide a large bowl to serve as the mixing bowl, spoons, and other bowls or plates to dish up in.
Water (optional) adds a whole extra level of fun and mess. Fill a few containers with water and add food colouring and glitter, use a splashmat or newspaper to protect the floor, or otherwise plan to set this up outside.
