The base for many soups and stews.


Ingredients

Makes 0 servings

  • Chicken carcass (use a left over roast chicken)
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 3 carrots (broken in half)
  • 1 turnip or other root vegetable
  • 1 bayleaf
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • Pepper (small handful of pepper corns works best)

Preparation (Some HTML is OK)

Add all ingredients to a large pot, fill with water. Bring water to the boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 hours. Strain the ingredients, keeping the stock in a large bowl. Transfer to plastic zip-lock bags for freezing.
