Classic sticky parkin, perfect with a cup of tea

- 170 grams Self Raising Flour
- 170 grams Medium Oatmeal
- 170 grams Brown Soft Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Ground Ginger
- 170 grams Black Treacle (for a softer cake use half golden syrup half black treacle)
- 85 grams Butter
- 4 fluid ounces Milk
- 1 large egg (beaten)

Line a loaf tin and preheat the oven at gas 3/electric 160, fan 140.
Mix together all dry ingredients.
Warm the treacle, butter and milk together, add to dry ingredients and mix well. Finally add the beaten egg and mix.
Put in tin and bake for approx 50 minutes.
Store in a cake tin for a few days before eating to improve stickiness - if you can resist!
