Description (Some HTML is OK)

Fish pie. Pie, with fish in.

Ingredients

Makes 0 servings

  • 1 piece smoked haddock fillet
  • 1 piece cod fillet
  • 1 piece salmon fillet
  • 100g spinach or other green leaves
  • 2 hardboiled eggs, peeled and chopped into 4.
  • 1 pint milk
  • butter
  • 30g plain flour
  • 2 leeks, washed and chopped
  • Parsley
  • Mashed potato -- enough to cover your casserole dish.

Preparation (Some HTML is OK)

Put all the fish in a pan. Cover with the milk, and poach for about 10 minutes.

Drain the fish (keeping the milk). Remove bones and skin, and flake into a large casserole dish.

Gently saute the leeks in butter. When they are soft, add the flour. Slowly stir in the milk to make a white sauce. Add the parsley. Pour the leek mixture over the fish.

Steam the spinach. When it is wilted, squeeze as much water out as you can, and chop it roughly. Add to the fish mixture.

Stir the fish mixture. Put the eggs on the top, and finally top with mashed potato. Put in the oven at 180 degC for about 45 minutes. Eat hot!
