Description (Some HTML is OK)

Not sure what you would call this dish. Maybe some kind of meaty pasta with sauce.

It came from a recipe book somewhere, so I don't claim to own it...

Ingredients

Makes 0 servings

  • 1.2 kilograms Lamb shoulder steaks (trimmed)
  • 2 x 400 gram Cans Whole peeled tomatoes
  • 4 cloves of garlic (chopped finely)
  • ¼ cup Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh Oregano
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 1 ¼ cups Orzo (or another fine grained pasta like Risoni)
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 2 cups chicken stock

Preparation (Some HTML is OK)

Preheat oven to 190C (360F). Place lamb in dish. Mix tomatoes, garlic, oil, oregano & stock. Pour over lamb. Sason with salt & pepper & place in oven. Bake for 1 hour, turning lamb once.

Remove from oven - add Orzo & water, then return to oven. Reduce temperature to 170C (340F) & bake for a further 20-30 minutes.
