Easy to make bread, good for breakfast, dessert, or a snack.

- 2 c wheat or all-purpose flour
- ½ c sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp poppy seeds
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 c orange juice
Preparation
Preheat oven to 325F. Mix flour, sugar, baking soda and poppy seeds in a medium bowl. Add vanilla and orange juice and mix thoroughly. Pour into a greased loaf tin and bake for 45 minutes, or until lightly brown on top and a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out with very few clumps. For a fancier version, substitute a few tablespoons of Grand Marnier, Triple Sec, or Cointreau for some of the orange juice. Makes a nice complement to fresh fruit and whipped cream or creme fraiche for dessert.
