Description (Some HTML is OK)

Classic homemade long-lasting playdough.

Ingredients

Makes 1 serving

  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 cup of salt
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon veg oil
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar

Preparation (Some HTML is OK)

Combine all the ingredients in a pot and mix continuously on a low heat till it comes together as a sticky dough. Allow to cool. I divide the mix up and colour each bit differently. I do sometimes need to add extra flour if the food colouring makes the dough too sticky again. You need to use lots of food colouring, typically half a bottle. Yellow, blue and red give good colours. You could also add the food colouring when you first mix it in the pot. I like to add a little vanilla or orange essence to the dough too. Glitter added can be fun too, but ends up sticking everywhere like glitter tends to do. Mine keeps in a tupperware in the fridge for ages.
