Description (Some HTML is OK)

This recipe is from my Mum ... and helps cure homesickness for my family in Melbourne

Ingredients

Makes 4 servings

  • 375g ready rolled puff pastry sheet
  • 450g sausage meat
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbs dried oregano
  • Sea salt and fresh ground black pepper for seasoning
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash

Preparation (Some HTML is OK)

1. Preheat oven to 200C

2. Chop onion and garlic finely

3. Put sausage meat into a mixing bowl, add the chopped onion and garlic along with oregano. Add more seasoning than you think, especially pepper and mix well.

4. Cut the pasty sheet into 3 and divide the sausage meat mixture into 3 rows.

5. Use the egg wash along one side of each pastry third. Roll each pastry third to form a roll. Cut each roll into 8 pieces.

6. Place into non stick baking tray, glaze with egg wash and pierce with knife tip.

7. Bake for 25 minutes or until browned.

Serve with ketchup! Great hot or cold for picnics too.
