Oven-baked tuna steaks, breaded with ciabatta crumbs.
Ingredients
Makes 4 servings
- 4 tuna steaks
- 1 egg / alternatively olive oil
- 1 lemon
- 10 peppercorns
- 1 tub ciabatta breadcrumbs (Tesco!)
- 1 tablespoon sea salt
Preparation
- Grind the peppercorns, mix with 3/4 the tub of breadcrumbs and the sea salt
- Beat the egg and coat each steak, evenly and equally (alternatively brush with olive oil)
- Generously cover each steak with the breadcrumb and seasoning mix
- Lay the steaks out on a baking tray, squeezing some lime or lemon over each
- Cover loosely with foil and bake in an over at gas mark 6 for 10 minutes
- Flip the steaks over, add more lemon and bake for another 10 minutes until the crumbs are a golden colour
