Warm feta and grilled vegetable salad
by
Freya
This is an incredibly tasty and surprisingly filling warm salad. It doesn't sound much , but it's fine for a main meal. I've served it at small dinner parties but it's best for just a couple of people--good date-type food (but swap the asparagus if that's your plan...!).

The ultimate ciabatta - bacon, mozzarella etc
by
Kyrea
My favourite sandwich by a mile... also works well as a panini, minus the lettuce and mayo. I also sometimes substitute pesto for the cranberry for a change, or you could use chicken instead of (or as well as, if you wanted to be really decadent!) bacon.

4 generations of a Louisiana family have declared this gumbo recipe a roaring success! Each generation tweaks it a little to suit their individual family, but the basic recipe is always the same.

Pearl barley and mushroom risotto
(1)
by
lukkie_shipwreck
A hearty, satisfying dish with loads of mushroomy goodness that makes for a fine vegetarian main dish. Pearl barley has a unique, chewy texture so this is very different from a rice risotto.

Tarragon & Butter Lettuce Salad
by
kaitlyn
Delicious spring salad. The dressing (apple cider vinegar/mustard) can be used for pretty much any salad, but the tarragon here adds a unique flavor.
