Description (Some HTML is OK)

This is awesome if you use crepes instead of cannelloni tubes.

Ingredients

Makes 0 servings

  • FOR THE CANNELLONI MIX
  • 500gm minced steak
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 1 med onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons ricotta cheese or ¼ cup cream
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • ½ teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 16 cannelloni tubes or crepes made previously
  • FOR THE SAUCE
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • ½ teaspoon basil
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed
  • 250gm tomato paste
  • 2 cups water
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ cup grated parmesan

Preparation (Some HTML is OK)

Place the ingredients for the cannelloni mix in a bowl & mix well. Fill cannelloni tubes, or roll into crepes & line a single layer of a greased casserole dish or roasting pan.

To make the sauce; heat oil in a saucepan. Add onion & cook until softened. Add oregano, basil, garlic, tomato paste, water and pepper, then gently simmer for five minutes.

Pour sauce over cannelloni & sprinkle with Parmigiano. Bake in a moderate oven (180C) for 40 minutes.
